We are a dedicated team of building services engineers. Our goal is be instrumental in the transition from a fossil fuel economy to a renewable energy economy. This can only happen if there are suitably trained and skilled installers operating in the market place. The Enviroshop is such a company headed up by a graduate engineer and supported by qualified installers.
We design our own systems, this means we understand what we are installing. Though we also use subcontractors they have to undergo rigourous assessment before being accepted as an installation partner.
The Enviroshop is an ELECSA Approved Contractor for the installation of solar photovoltaics under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme; Registration No. ELC54251. Our completion certificate can be used by customers as evidence to claim the Feed in Tariff.
The demise of cheap fossil fuel and climate change are the reasons for the massive growth in the market for small scale renewable energy. Add to that our ageing electricity network cannot cope with the demand and most of our generating capacity will be condemned by the E.U. for excess CO2 emissions.
At Enviroshop we are committed to providing a sound, professional, and cost effective solution to your energy needs using the wide range of solutions we have available. Solar PV panels were used on the earliest satellites and space missions back in the 1960’s.
The sun provides all our energy. Fossil fuel is the result of millions of years of organic production that locked away carbon dioxide that was abundant in the atmosphere before life as we know it developed. Indeed it was the early life that laid down the oil, gas and coal that gave us the air we breathe now. It is not ours to burn carelessly or leak into the sea, it is Pandora’s Box that must lay undisturbed while we use sustainable energy delivered to us daily.
Whether you accept that it is human intervention or not the climate is changing of that there is no doubt. All the worlds scientists are now in agreement that it is green house gasses that are accelerating a natural cycle by keeping more heat in the atmosphere. It is too important an issue to ignore, it is for all of us to change our impact on the environment. On top of this is the fact that we are coming to the end of the easy access fossil fuels.
Fossil fuels are getting scarce. Our economy was built on cheap fossil fuel energy which means our way of life is threatened. Without energy our very existence is in the balance which is why we have to build a sustainable energy market as part of our sustainable world. This will be our legacy to our children.
The Deep Horizon drilling disaster in the Gulf of Mexico shows that the future of oil is uncertain. There may be more oil and gas buried deep in the earths crust but it will be increasingly expensive to exploit. Lets learn to live with the energy we have around us and leave the oil where it belongs, locked safely away.
From 2015 most of the UK’s coal fired power stations will not comply with E.U. emissions regulations. We are currently producing nearly 80% of our electricity from coal (mostly imported) and the new nuclear stations are some way off yet so we face the prospect of paying fines or shutting down some of the power stations. The prospects of power cuts are real if demand exceeds supply. The branches of the distribution network with the least generation capacity will be most at risk, those with a good balance of generation and demand will be safest.
Microgeneration provides the means to safeguard our energy network. Coupled with energy efficiency we can reduce our reliance on imported fossil fuel and reduce the effects of climate change our two major threats.
