The Enviroshop is a specialist company installing solar panels in the West of England. A survey is carried out for all quotations so that the right number and type of panels is selected for each application. Surveys and quotations are normally free of charge.
The Enviroshop team are committed to renewable energy and sustainability. We are based in the heart of the West Country in Bridgwater and deliver services to Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire, Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
All solar PV systems registered after 12 December 2011 will qualify for the 43.3p Feed in Tariff up to 1st April 2012, after that date the tariff will drop to 21p. All systems registered before 12 December 2011 will get a rise in rate in line with the Retail Price Index. This is all subject to the Comprehensive Review which is currently still in consultation but the outcome looks to be a forgone conclusion. Go to the DECC website for more information.
Prices have fallen in January so that a typical 4kWp domestic system will cost from £8,500 with a return on investment of up to 10%. Don’t delay because there could be another adjustment when demand increases. The Government will protect the budget for the Feed in Tariff by further reductions. Another incentive to act now is the requirement of a grade C Energy Performance Certificate after 1st April. If you live in an older house this may be an added expense before you can register your system.
When the Renewable Heat Incentive is implemented heat pumps will be encouraged by payments for the heat generated. This only applies to ground and water source heat pumps initialy. If you have a large garden or lake this is achievable but expencive and disruptive.
The simple solution is to install an air to air heat pump. This technology has been excluded from the RHI because it already pays for itself in a short time when compared to oil heating. It is simple and clean to install and can operate alongside any existing heating system so it can be installed in stages. Call us for further information and a quotation.
The future of the PV Feed in Tariff is being decided in the Supreme Court. A decision can’t be expected for up to a year. In addition the DECC have tabled legislation that will set the FIT at 21p from 3 March. Until then installations registered may qualify for 43.3p up to 1 April and maybe for the next 25 years. We will work on the assumption that it will be 21P and base all our estimates for pay back on that tariff. If the appeal is turned down customers will be better off.
Not forgetting the extra caveat that after 1st April all houses will have to have a level 3 or better Energy Performance Certificate to receive the 21p, otherwise it is just 9p. We had better hurry up as this is going to be the best opportunity for some time.
